Our Guarantee

At Morton Doors, we take great pride in the craftsmanship of our solid timber doors. Every door and frame is handmade using high-quality materials and carefully inspected before leaving our workshop. To ensure your door performs as intended, the following guarantee terms apply.

What Our Guarantee Covers

We guarantee that your door and frame will be free from manufacturing defects for 24 months from the date of delivery.

This covers:

  • Structural faults in the timber
  • Defects in craftsmanship that make the door unfit for purpose.

If a genuine manufacturing defect occurs within the guarantee period, we will repair or replace the affected component at our discretion.

What Our Guarantee Does Not Cover

Because timber is a natural material that responds to moisture and environmental conditions, certain issues fall outside our control. The guarantee does not cover:

  • Swelling, shrinking, warping or bowing caused by insufficient finishing, delayed finishing, or exposure to moisture.
  • Damage caused by incorrect installation
  • Damage caused by lack of maintenance, neglect, or improper storage.
  • Paint adhesion issues caused by applying finish over damp or unprepared surfaces
  • General wear and tear, weathering, or changes in appearance due to the natural aging of timber
  • Impact damage, scratches, dents, or misuse

Finishing Requirements

All our doors and frames are supplied primed only. The primer is not waterproof and is not designed to protect the timber from the elements. To maintain your guarantee:

  • Your door and frame must recieve a full exterior-grade finishing system either before installation, or within 24 hours of installation

Additionally:

  • The door must not be exposed to rain, moisture, or high humidity before the finish is appied
  • All edges, including top, bottom, sides, cut-outs must be fully sealed

Failure to follow these finishing requirements will void the guarantee. Exposure to moisture before finishing can cause swelling, staining, surface damage, and in severe cases, warping. These are not manufacturing defects.

Instalation Requirements

Because we supply on a "supply-only" basis, your installer plays a key role in ensuring correct fit and performance. Your guarentee does not cover issues caused by:

  • Incorrect fitting of the door and frame
  • Failure to apply a waterproof sealant when fixing the weather-bar
  • Poor alignment of hinges or hardware
  • Doors installed in openings that are not plumb, square, or free from structual movement

Summary

Your door is a premium handcrafted product made from natural timber. With correct finishing, proper installation, and routine care, it will last for many years. Our guarantee is here to protect you from genuine manufacturing faults, while ensuring the door is cared for in a way that preserves its longevity.

Our Liability

Our liability is strictly limited to the value of the goods supplied. We cannot accept responsibility for incidental costs, consequential losses, or damages arising from the use, installation, or performance of our products.
