Our Guarantee

At Morton Doors, we believe a front door should be beautiful, durable, and built to last. That’s why every door we supply is backed by a 2-year guarantee.

What’s Covered

Our guarantee protects you against:

  • Structural faults in the timber
  • Defects in craftsmanship that make the door unfit for purpose.

If a covered fault occurs within 2 years of delivery, we’ll repair or replace the door at our discretion.

Conditions of the Guarantee

To ensure your guarantee remains valid:

  • Installation must be carried out by a qualified professional.
  • Your door must be finished with a high-quality, weather-resistant oil based paint or stain before installation.
  • All edges (including hinge, letterbox and lock cut-outs) must be sealed properly.
  • The door must be stored, installed, and maintained according to our care guidelines.
  • Regular maintenance, including sanding and reapplication of finish at least once a year, is required.

What’s Not Covered

  • As timber is a natural material, it can experience movement in all planes. This can occasionally cause small splits (‘shakes’), which are a natural part of the timber’s character and are not considered a structural defect.
  • Minor bowing or twisting may also occur. Movement within the published British Standards will not constitute a fault or defect.
  • Cracks in glass panels.
  • Damage caused by improper storage, finishing, installation, or maintenance.
  • Damage from extreme weather conditions or dark paint finishes.

Important:

Dark paint finishes are not recommended for external doors. Dark colours absorb more heat from sunlight, which can cause the timber to expand, contract, crack, or warp over time. Because this risk is higher with dark finishes, damage resulting from heat absorption is not covered under our guarantee.

Our Liability

Our liability is strictly limited to the value of the goods supplied. We cannot accept responsibility for incidental costs, consequential losses, or damages arising from the use, installation, or performance of our products.
